Czech International Amateur Golf Championships in 2025

Once again in 2025, the CGF will be hosting five open international championships. Nevertheless, European championship youth teams will dominate the calendar of amateur international events in the Czech Republic, which will be hosted by Brno’s Golf Resort Kaskáda from July 8 to 12.

The European Boys' Team Championship is a championship for six-member teams of youths from the 16 best countries of the European Golf Association (EGA), which has been played every year since 1980. The Czech Republic has only hosted this tournament three times over its 45-year history, the last time being seven years ago at Kaskáda.

As usual, the Czech International Amateur Championship will be the focus of attention of the five international amateur championships organized by the CGF. The tournament moved from Karlovy Vary to the royal course in Mariánské Lázně, which this year commemorates 120 years since its inauguration. Since last year's victory in Karlovy Vary, reigning champion Matouš Zach has been looking forward to Mariánské Lázně: "It's great that next year it will be played in Mariánské Lázně. Like Karlovy Vary, it is a course that suits me perfectly. So I'm very much looking forward to defending my title.” Tereza Zavřelová also managed to retain her title at home in Karlovy Vary last year.

The Czech International Match Play Championship is moving much farther away from Mladá Boleslav. The Old Course in Čeladná will be this year’s host. We will see if Timotej Formánek and Austrian Katharina Schroll come and defend their respective titles.

Prague's Black Bridge course will be prepared for the top domestic tournament for players under 18 - the Czech International Boys & Girls Championship in July. Last year, the Boys category was dominated by the German Michael Mayer, who left Štěpán Plášek behind at Dýšina by two strokes. Kristýna Malinová is the title holder in the Girls category.

The Czech International MID-Amateur Championship in Mstětice and the Czech International Senior Amateur Championship in Karlovy Vary are also planned for the holiday months.

Luboš Klikar, CGF technical director: "International championships are the highlight of every golf season, and this year will be no different. I want to thank all the resorts that will welcome our amateur elite and players from abroad. I personally look forward to visiting Mariánské Lázně, which last hosted the stroke play championship in 2010. It was an unforgettable experience. Englishmen Tyrrell Hatton, Neil Raymond and Andy Sullivan took the first three places. Yes, the very same Tyrrell and Andy who shine in the world of professional golf today. I believe that the Old Course in Čeladná in the beautiful Beskid Mountains will also be a great challenge for our players and those from abroad.”
