The home season’s first international golf championship is almost here. The Czech International Match Play Championship has moved to spring this year, held in Mladá Boleslav from Saturday, May 25, to Tuesday, May 28. Since foreigners are also invited, the application deadline is by noon, May 17.
This year, the Czech International Match Play Championship is keeping the traditional format of a four-day knockout competition. It all starts on Saturday, May 25, with the qualifying round, from which the best 64 men and 32 women will advance to the next battles. On Sunday and Monday, the entire field of players divided into brackets will be reduced and headed for Tuesday's final. In it, the medals in both categories will be decided by two matches for third place and two finals for gold.
Dominika Burdová won last year’s Czech International Match Play Championship, and Laurenz Kubin took home the trophy to Austria in the Amateurs category.
A maximum of 105 men and 51 women with the best handicaps can be admitted to the championship qualification by the time of the application deadline, and as tournament director Dalibor Procházka confirmed, the HCP limits remain very friendly - 7.0 for men and 11.0 for women.
The tournament is already about half full in both the men's and women's categories, and the gate to the qualification battles of the Czech International Match Play Championship will remain open for Czech and foreign players until 12:00 p.m. on May 17.
